Liebster Award

Look, I don’t even know how to start of this post. If I start by apologizing for being away from close to a month, I’m sure there’s someone willing to throw water balloons at me for using that excuse way too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, by all means, please do with me whatever you wish, I am sorry for not being a consistent blogger. (I actually might have a New Year resolution along the lines of having regular posts… But hey, we all know how those resolutions go right?)

The past few weeks have been uber busy for me. Plus I’ve been stressed both physically and emotionally that posting anything here would mean saying things that might hurt some people, so I sort- of decided to stay away.

I’m here now. For the next two to three weeks, work won’t be as demanding, so I’ll have ample time to blog.

Let me first of all apologize to one of the natural hair bloggers I follow- The Kink And I –

About a couple of months ago, she nominated my young blog for the Liebster Award. Usually, only blogs with 200 or more followers are nominated for this award. People, I don’t have even quarter of that, but she nominated me. Thanks girl!

And as part of the nominations, I was required to answer some fun questions and in turn nominate a few other bloggers. I never got to do it when the nomination came. So, here we are… I’m going to answer the questions and in turn, nominate a few blogs. 🙂

1. What do you do for a living?
I’m a reporter in the Caribbean, a poet, a budding photographer, lover of nature,  Christ and people.

2. What do you like to do for fun?
I’m an introvert (Yes, I am! Some people hardly believe it.) so, it doesn’t take much for me to have fun. Fun for me involves being home with a book in hand, some peace and quiet. And for a little outdoor fun, I love being behind a camera, capturing the little things in life.

3. Are you a glass half empty or half full type of person?
I’m more a “half full” person, but there are times I go the other route.

4. Cook or take out/eat out?
Wheew! I love to cook, but I’ve got to really be in the mood to cook a storm. And I’m not a picky eater and not too much of an out eater…. I’m a mixture of both…

5. What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about photography, writing and poetry (Well, I guess I can just say I’m passionate about the Arts right?) I’ve also got a soft spot for Domestic Violence. (Violence on a whole is a no-no for me… but worse of all, violence in relationships make my blood boil be it against men or women)

6. Favorite season/time of year?
I don’t really have a favorite season. I love the weather around Christmas, but for the past few years, I’ve not been to excited about Christmas. All the commercial hype makes me sick ( I smell a grinch…lol). I love summer though…(Wait, it’s summer all year round in the Caribbean.. but oh well…)

7. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Nah, I don’t collect anything per se… The things come and go. I remember this time, I was into wooden bangles, another time, I was into scarfs. Lately, I’ve been into photography gear… I wish I had all the money in the world to collect more photo gear.

8. City life or country living? Why?
Oh goodness, country life any day! I love nature, I love me some peace, quiet and serenity. As strange as this sound with me being a reporter and all, I hate crowds. Crowds drain all my energy. There’s so much going on in the city.

9. Favourite comfort food?
If sushi counts as comfort food, then yes! but if it doesn’t, then I don’t know any other food that comforts me.

10. Favorite quote?
My favorite quote is a Bible verse. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23.

Here we have it people.
I’ll like to nominate the following lovelies… but please, if for any reason you’re not mention, feel free to answer these questions and share with others.

    • We seem to share a few common things: the quiet country life, the cooking, love scarfs- sometimes I think I might get to the place where I wear scarfs as my only attire with a nice pair of shoes. smile
