Frustrating Flu.

Girls and boys, gentlemen and ladies,

The witches and wizards in my village finally got me! Let me explain.  Continue reading

I Said I Do. I Did, but I Knew I Shouldn’t Have Walked Down That Aisle.

Well, this is it gentlemen and ladies, girls and boys. We should all learn to follow our hearts!

Summer Owens

I recently read and shared a great article about a lady who decided not to get married after accepting a marriage proposal by someone she did actually love but knew her heart he was not supposed to be her husband.  Her story and the comments I got when I shared it inspired me to share another part of my story that most people don’t know.

Summer wedding

In my mid-twenties, I met a guy (the one I talk about in my first book). He wasn’t really my type, but the more time I spent with him the more I cared for him.  After a few months of him being my “friend” and enjoying his company, I decided to give the relationship he had been asking for a try.

That was in November, and on Valentine’s Day he asked me to be his wife.

More Smoothie.

Still on the smoothie matter, I think I’ll spend the next couple of days just blending fruits!

Here’s one I made this morning and named it Purple Paradise.
It’s a mixture of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, banana, Chobani yogurt and a dash of lemon juice.

I garnished it with some chocolate crumbs and almonds.

And of course, I had to torment y’all will with the lovely view from my apartment. You’re welcome. 😊

Smoothie Smite.

Dear Nigerian Husband,

Here’s a cup of smoothie I made just a while ago after my very intense workout.

I’m not even sorry that you can’t taste how delicious and refreshing this tastes. You’ve refused to show up and as such, you’ll just have to watch from a distance as I make these lovely dishes and drinks.

Anyway, in case you care to know what’s in this lovely glass and how you can make it, here’s a list of all the antioxidant goodness I used.

– A full cup of mixed berries- raspberry, strawberry, blueberry.

– Half a cup of Chobani yogurt.

– Two bananas

– Handful of seedless grapes.

Blend all together until seeds are completely grinded.

That’s it. I’d say enjoy, but we all know you can’t, shouldn’t enjoy anything before you make yourself known!

Yours in marriage eventually,

Nigerian wife.

I Must Ride A Bike.

Yes, I don’t know how to ride a bike and I’m almost 30.

Worry not, I shall learn before Christmas. I enlisted the help of my office husband and the every so helpful intern to teach me.

My classes began this evening and thankfully, there were no falls or very embarrassing moments. I hope it stays that way.
